Bridget

I love life even though it seems to speed up faster everyday. This last month of October was a very fun and filled month. Bridget had a Birthday party with lots of friends. We ended up with about 24 kids and many moms to visit with. She needed to take a poster about her self to school and this is what we came up with..

Of course she chose a cake that I thought would be pretty hard to accomplish but in the end it didn't take long at all to do. Here is a pic. of her table setting and cake...

Everyone at the party was to come in costume..Bridget could not wait to be Batman (NOT...batgirl!!!)
sorry photos have not been edited yet.

rescheduled AGAIN!!!! Thursday September 4, 2008

Ok i have pretty much been null and void lately and I am sorry to all who like to know how we are doing and for the rest of you who don't care you can just close this note now.
Let me start with the latest and work my way back....This might be a LONG NOTE.....
Tuesday I took Shaela in to get all her pre-ops done (blood work, x-rays and so forth). She was such a trooper during all of it and I was so proud of her. She did shed a few tears during the blood work but she did not pull away or act mad at them, she even told them thanks after all the needle work....what a sweet heart. Then Wednesday morning around 4:00am the hospital called and cancelled our our surgery. The surgeon today told me they had an emergency transplant and it took all night and he did not feel right to stick it out and do Shaela's. He said in his younger days he probably would have but, he feels as if he has now matured, gets tired and knows that he works better with more rest. Anyways we rescheduled for today at 7:30am. We woke up at 4:30, took Gidget to grandma's and checked into the surgery area. When we had woken up Shaela this morning she sounded a little horse and had a VERY slight runny nose so we were a little worried, but by the time we even got to grandma's she seemed normal. Well the surgeon came in to talk to us about the upcoming surgery. He explained that what we thought was going to be a fairly straight forward surgery may be a very "RADICAL" (his word not mine) surgery. Shane asked what he ment by this and he said that he was hoping from looking at his notes from her last surgery that he could just go in a clean up this tissue that is narrowing her valve with minimal complications, but after looking at her ultra-sound he does not think that will be an option. He is not positive until he gets in there to know for sure. But the other option that he thinks he may have to do is take her Pulmonary Valve and replace her Aorta Valve with it and then transplant a new donor valve for her Pulmonary Valve. This is not a simple surgery by any means and if it goes down this road there will be MANY more surgerys to replace the valves again. Also we still have the problem with the Mitral Valve, right now it is doing great and we hope it still holds on because I asked him about that transplant and he said "I don't even want to talk about that yet, that is a severe surgery with many complications and very high risk in her case." So of course are hopes are that the mitral valve will stay put. We asked the risk factors on the other vavle transplants and he says that he has lost a few but they were younger with other factors, but he also said he has never had a case like her either. (she gets that from me, we are here to pave the road for others) He can not tell us her life span after the surgery for sure, because it is a fairly new surgery. it has only been around for about 20yrs and that is new in medical terms, So at least possibly 20 yrs. ADULTHOOD here we come! :) Shaela has been pretty upset today. I do believe it is from the whole rollercoaster ride of feelings and she is so young and trying to be so adult. She had mentally prepared for this surgery and was excited to do it and for it to get cancelled twice on her I think in threw her for a loop. The doctors are very open when they talk with us and her, and she was around when he told us that they have lost some to this surgery, but I really don't think she understood that part, he did it very tactfully in front of her. Well after all the explanation of what to come we told him we were worried about her horseness waking up and her runny nose. He said that with what we have to possibly do that it would be better to wait. He said some kids come in not knowing they have a cold and get on the ventaltor and end up not getting it off for a month because of it, so it is better to be safe then sorry. So we have to reschedule the surgery for the end of this month because the surgeon goes out of the country next week and my husband goes to Texas for some training in a couple of weeks...Party at my House! :) He did tell Shaela NO MORE RUNNING until after surgery.
All that know me know that I don't sleep much, but I am ready to now. I can not ever sleep the night before these things and so I have not slept in 56 hours and still counting. I have my Dt. Mountain Dew at work for me for now, until I have the girls home from school and all is settled. Then Bed here I come.
I know I said I would post more of what is going on with life other then heart stuff but this is pretty long so I will do that for you another time.

Ohhh, P.S. I don't have the heart to tell shaela she has to do all the Pre-Ops again! :(

Thanks for all your prayers and we love you all.

Need your Help.........

Ok, once again I am afraid to just make my own decision. I kind of have my mind up one way or the other but, am wanting everyone Else's opinion. I am sick of the pony tail look, but I do love my long hair when I do it. I really liked my short hair the first time I cut it, but when I cut it with Shaela it looked AWFUL!! Very bad haircut. So I am really scared to just go chopped it off. my hair now is only about 3" from my butt. So what do you think Short or long? Now I know you might liketo one or the other, but I am talking about what looks good on me... Pleaseeeeee Voteeeeeee....... I need to decide before I go in for my trim on Next Thursday... I like this short haircut on me, but you have any other cute Ideas let me know... or cute long cut ideas....

so much, so much...

wow, I always think that I will not be busy this week on Sunday and the Monday hits and I am slammed! I can not believe how much comes up to do during the week. I have not stopped for weeks and I would really like a nap. I need to learn to say no to some, but I really do like everything we do and I just hate to waste the time sleeping. We have done so much since our computer went down that I put all the pics on a slide show and will try to post that with this post. Shaela has now graduated Kindergarten (pics of that), We also went to the Zoo with her class and to the pool have not developed those pictures yet. The ones of the dog is the one of him when he eat the whole bag of Charcoal and the one when he tried to make himself a pool. Shaela's birthday party was awesome. She collected gifts for Primary Children's Hospital patients and we took them over there. She did this in Lu of gifts for her. It was fun and she loved it. She had a combined water party with a friend. the one of Gidget is one of the many times she fell and hurt herself..

This plant was given to me for my surgery from my Mothers work. I loved the chest it came in and I kept it a live and beautiful for a year now (which is REALLY good for me). Well it stank in my home today and it was driving me crazy, I figured it out! The plant stinks, it must of molded underneath on the wood. I put it in the garbage tonight. I am now on the hunt for another plant and holder like this one, but maybe with the plants in a real plant container so it won't leak into the box.

Ok, last Friday I was asked to decorate the School Office Door for Teacher Appreciation Week. This is what the girls and I came up with.

The Dog really likes the hose...

Here is a ruff look at what my picture wall looks like in the front room. The 'Family' letters still need to be painted and real pictures in the frames.

Aren't kids lovely... My favorite spring time plant is my Bleeding Heart plant. And yesterday morning Bridget came in all excited because she picked me "the most beautiful heart flowers outside" AHHH I thanked her and will not count the days until next spring. They were lovely and maybe even more so now that She gave them to me....

Shaela had a field trip to the ZOO, Wow how hard it is with kindergartners. But she had fun. Bridget and the Baby also went along for the trip. It rained the entire time, here is a pic. of our group under the umbrella....

This is how the baby traveled at the Zoo, Now you See her, Now you Don't!

We get to have Kylie all night tonight here is a pic. of the girls in the bath!

What to do, What to do, What to do????

Another dilemma in the making. I am so indecisive and I can never seem to decide on my own when it comes to decorating. So I bought picture frames for my front room, my kids sat in a cart at Shopko for 1 1/2 hours while I layed out the frames on the stores floor in the pattern I like to see if I liked the frames. Well I bought my Iron rod. and these are the different ways to lay out the pics. on the wall. which way do you like best, also now that I have the rod I am wondering if I should have went with simple frames that you paint yourself for that rustic look and not so much for the really nice ones.
Which layout do you like best, See the cool rod!!

what a more rustic frame may look like but edges rubbed

Things That Make me Go Hmmmmmm

Some ask me why I can never feel my phone vibrate while it is in my pocket, well that could be because everything on me vibrates and I now ignore it with out meaning to. My pump on my hip vibrates at least every 2 hours, then there is the phone that vibrates very often in one back pocket and in the other is a continues glucose monitor that vibrates and I still can't figure it out. So here is a pic. of all the lovely technology that I have to have with me all the time.

Here is the pic.s of the new little girl in our home. We all love her, even Shane has helped hold her for me a few times. She is so small and cute. She is smaller then any of my girls have been. She is 3 months today. We take her everywhere with us. I am so glad to have this opportunity of having her during the day. Her name is Kylee and am not sure how to spell it yet. The first day that she arrived the whole family was up at 5:45am n to greet her, here is the girls watching early morning cartoons with her on that first morning.

once again Shane had his friends over with their kids for a Bar-B-Que and marshmallows..

Sandy's Birthday was last Friday. Chari had put in trick candles into her cake. here is her and all the grand kids given it a try....

I took the kids on a ride on the train. We got all our stuff and headed out on the train to Ogden to visit Sheena. When we got there I did not have much time to visit because I wanted to make sure I got the baby home on time for her mom. So I jumped back on the train and left my kids with Sheena. After I finally got back home turned the baby over to her mom and then got back on the train to Ogden again to get my girls. I stayed and eat with them then the girls and I headed back home on the train. NEEDLESS to say I was very Train Sick!!

Here is a Picture of the girls on their very first train ride....

yes, yes, yea and No, NO, NO

I finally did it, I got myself out of bed and went to the gym. So many times I have made the promise to myself that I would some how fit it in during the day. Between the kids stuff and grandma, well I am very bad at keeping promises to myself. So I made a new plan and that is to get myself out of bed at 4:00am and get to the gym before Shane leaves for work so I don't have to worry about the kids and still get it in in the morning like I like. I now have done it twice, I know it has not settled in as a habit yet, but soon. I was very disappointed in my running time. It took me 18min. to run 1 mile, are you kidding me? Shaela could pass me up! So Jen wants to do a short pre. Triathlon warm up in May, and I will still be running when they are all back home sleeping. I need to push myself harder. I tried today!
We will be having a new baby addition to our home. All that know me, know how much I want another baby! Well we have on coming! A girl on my street needs someone to watch her 3month old baby girl and I jumped to say yes! So starting on Monday, we will have this girl everyday from 6:00am to 4:00pm! Can life get any better then this? I already have plans to barrow some baby stuff from Chari, so that I have a few things and I think she may need a few cute hair bows. oh ya and a swimsuit for all the times we will be going swimming this summer. I have not been this excited since Bridget was coming! I will post pic.s of her when I get some.

busy weekend

As always I had a VERY FULL schedule this weekend and I am glad that the new week is here. Thursday night I went with some of my friends from the ward to Stake Temple night. Friday night Bailey (Jens little girl) had her birthday party at Boondocks. It was SO>>>fun. here is a pic. of my girls on one of those virtual rides were the seat shakes and you are watching a screen that looks like you are on some type of scary ride. The seats would shake so bad that the girls could barely stay on. If you notice the gray above their heads, this is were their heads should be. Look at there PRICELESS faces!!AHHHHHHHH

And here is a pic. of us three at the party.

Saturday...Shane had a lot of yard work to catch up on. All his friends showed up individually and he put them all to work, you go hunny!

Here is the kind of toys my husband lets the girls play with. I have to bite my tongue sometime, but you can bet the "I told you so" would have came out if there had been a visit to the ER.

And finally tonight Shane hung up my mirror.. What do you think? I was thinking of putting black photo albums on one side of it with something on the other.

Another snare

Ok, I am at another dilemma with my front room. I have two pieces of material that I like for the couch cushions. Here they are.. Which ones do you like? I need to purchase them tonight..

Lost a dear friend

well yesterday I lost a Very dear old friend. This friend I have known for 13 years. I have loved and hated her. She has always been dependable for me though. Who was this friend,? you ask... It was none other then my trusty old Subaru ( u r a bus spelt backwards). I bought this car 13 yrs ago while I was in college. I hated the color of it, but loved the car. I still hate the color of it. Well it was 15yrs old the day it died. It sure lasted a long time for me though. We had racked up 260,000 miles together! Shane was going to work the other day in her when she gave her last breath. He tried to resuscitate her, but to no avail she would cost way to much medical for us at this time. So we are on the hunt for a car. Not a new one, we looked on KSL and found another Subaru just like her, same year but with only 150,000 miles. the car is only $500.00. That car still has a good 100,000 miles left in it. Shane is going to go take a look at him tomorrow! I will post a pic. of our lost loved one soon! She will be donated to Kars for Kidneys.. Moment of silence for the one that forgave me the 2 times I forgot to put the oil cap on and blew oil all over the roof of her hood, the times I drove around with her leaking oil for so long, The time a dumped 2 SUPER SIZED milk shakes onto the gear shift, the times I ran her with the gas light on until she was only using fumes, and the MANY, MANY, MANY brakes I had to replace in her because of my heavy foot. Oh and the time she ran into my moms Yukon.

colored hair

Ok, maybe I should have been watching were I was driving, but I so wanted a pic. of my side mirror looking out. Here is what I was seeing, what you are not seeing is that the traffic really was crawling along, and I had plenty of time to take A LOT of pictures.

Shaela had crazy hair day this last Friday. She had been looking forward to it all week. So I was getting as excited as her...YOu know live through you kids type thing. Anyhow we decided to take Chantell's doo.. and color it. I think she is so cute, but like my friend Amy said "she looks like a troll." don't you just want to wrap your hands around her and spin her back and forth to see if it will do the troll thing?

Bridget also wanted to color her hair so I did poca-dots for her. She did how ever lean against my wall with her freshly painted hair, so now my new painted wall just got another coat of color, but in pink!!!AHHHHHH

I forgot to post that the other week Sheena, Wyatt, me and the girls, Mom, Grandma and Brandon all went to the movie. We went and seen 'Horton Hears a Who.' This has been one of my All Time FavoriteS! I have not liked a movie this much since 'Over the Hedge.' Here is a pic. of the kids leaving the movie parked on a bench. Sheena and I had a BLAST riding home. I don't think I have laughed that long in a VERY long time. Thanks Sheena.

Partners in Crime

My neighbors have a little boy that is Shaela's age. This little boy is always into something. I mean he is a real life Dennis the Mennis. I love his mom and dad, they are wonderful people. I just feel bad about all they have to put up with. This is just one day out of MANY I am telling you about. The other day the little boy decided to throw oranges over the fence to our backyard. I believe he had good intentions...He wanted to share with the girls and I think the pup. The girls brought in 6 oranges. Next Shane had to go out there and tell him to stop pulling of the metal fence dividers (you know the privacy, plastic strips), from the neighbors fence on the other side of us. not even 5 min. after that Shane had to go tell him to stop throwing rocks at his work truck. Oh..he was not trying to hit the truck, just the garbage can parked right behind the truck. AHHHHHH! He wants to come over and play almost everyday, but sometimes I just have to say "not today." Anyways these neighbors have a yellow lab that is only 6months older the ours. With a little help from this little boy the pup now crawls under the fence to come play with scooter (our pup). I don't mind, that part because he keeps scooter happy and then they play better with the girls. Here is a pick of the 2 pups. Scooter (ours) is on the right and Trek is on the left. See how big Scooter is, he already can bulldozer this pup over.

Bridget loves to play with her pup in the sandbox. She puts him to work, by having him dig the BIG holes. It is funny to watch them work together on this. Here is a pic. of them at work.

I can just hear her say "Yes Scooter, dig right there...Good Boy!"

Here is all 4 of them working together to make the best Sandcastle Ever!

As for the cat (Chopper) he has never been outside, and may never want to go out if I can help it...Every time he tries to get close to the outside of the door I try to something that will scare him so bad that he will not try again that day!

Big Dilemma

OK, I of course have been keeping myself busy. I have chosen this last week to paint my front room. I have painted the walls a tanish/taupe color and want to paint one wall a Bay leaf Green. Along with, I am thinking of buying Couch covers that look like this..

And the big pillows (the back part of the couch) I would like to make covers for them, something like this print....

Any ideas where I can get this in upholstery material? and then do the small decorative pillows in another solid color. I added the pillows onto the couch in photoshop, to see how it looks, what do you think?

OK, the thing I want to know is Vertical on the mirror above the table or Horizontal, I am going more towards the Vertical only because I am planning on putting A Horizontal rod above my couch with pic.s hanging on it. and EVERYTHING in the room seems Horizontal ( long piano, long coffee table, long couch, long rod) I just thought it would brake it up what do you think? Please vote...

And here is a kind of idea that I am going to do with my pics. but with the word FAMILY in wood letters above it., not sure what color or how I am going to decorate the letters, any ideas?
